An outfit and some photos from the last month. It's been raining so much here in the east I think I've forgotten what the sun looks like. My sister and I have been taking walks in the woods to make the most of what few autumn days remain, today is already the end of October. And it's Halloween! Here is a little mix I made for the occasion.

Feel the fear of death, as we now know what it means to live.

"Let me inside you. I will walk the hallways of your heart, I will sweep and mop the floors. I will polish and dust all the little trinkets made of memories and emotions. I will make the beds and do the laundry. And finally I will open that door that holds only cold and silence and blackness and I will walk in that space and fill it with candles and torches and singing and laughter and the darkness will be purged, and then finally you will emerge shy and timid and I will hold you close."

This dark place is where we will hide and where our love grows.

There is nothing I love more than collaborating with independent designers and shops. Recently I had the pleasure of receiving two of the pieces pictured above from two very amazing ladies and their respective stores. Jordan de Ruiter is a designer who makes whimsical, romantic flower crowns (and clothing, of course) right here in Toronto! This piece is from her fall collection. You can check out the crown I am wearing and similar pieces riiight here. Everything is made in Canada, cruelty-free and eco-friendly. My denim cutoff shorts are from The Revival Outpost, a clothing boutique based in New Orleans, stocked to the brim with unique, quirky vintage and new pieces. These shorts are reworked vintage Levi's with studs on the left pocket, and happily, the first pair of denim cutoffs I've owned in years.
